Siti : Sales ‘Baso’ at 7 years old

I never see this television program, “Orang Pinggiran”. This program is aired by Trans7 television channel. However, because of somehow I watched this program yesterday, 6 March 2012. I have touched by little girl profile in that show. I changed the channel into this program until this program end.

Siti, 7 years old little girl, sales ‘baso’ made her neighbor for helping her mother finance. She is fatherless so her mother has to work hard for their live. Her mother is just a worker in her neighbor farm. They can’t get much money from that work. Usually she works but unpaid by her neighbor.

Although they are very poor but they are very love each other. Siti is studying at elementary school. In the noon, she goes to her neighbor to take the ‘baso’ for sale. She got 1000 to 2000 rupiahs for her sale each day. After that, sometimes,  she goes to her other neighbor to ask for vegetables for free. She needs it for her and her mother eating. In other day, they usually eat rice and salt only (how sad…).

I am very sad for her. Her work for helping her mother although she is very little is good sample for us. Many good things can be gotten from this story. I think we have to think deeper about this, Why it happens? Who is in responsibility about this condition? We have to ask to ourselves….
